I am recently retired from 48 highly successful years of teaching.
I am extremely passionate, enthusiastic, motivational - and all of that/my love of math is highly contagious.
I teach/tutor from the perspective that I expect students students to not just know the "how", but also the "why" - as that will minimize memorization and maximize understanding.
My teaching/tutoring style is one in which students are engaged/involved/on task - one in which students feel as though they have an integral part in their learning process. I am a strong believer/follower in the "I do, we do, you do" process.
I am highly experienced with teaching Algebra Two, Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry using a TI-84PLUS CE Graphing Calculator.
I earned the distinction of being named Broward County High School Math Teacher of the Year in 2006.
I earned 44 out of 44 innovative ratings based on Marzano Model of Teaching Effectiveness and an Instructional Practice Final score of 4.0 - Highly Effective (a perfect score) during the 2017 - 2018 school year.
