Hi there! My name is Josh and I’m a freelance writer, tutor, and writing coach originally from Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Music Theatre and moved to New York City shortly thereafter to pursue a life in the arts. During my time in the city, I worked a variety of creative positions including as an actor, writer, nanny, hospitality worker, personal assistant, and sales associate.

While working as a nanny, I tutored my nanny kids as well as friends of theirs in a variety of subjects. Prior to that, I taught music and devotionals at my church’s summer day camp and speech and drama to children ages 5 to 13. I was an R.A. in college and spent three years overseeing residents and planning fun, informative programs for them.

My greatest passion in the world is writing and I recently began working as a freelance writer for We Got This Covered as well as a tutor and writing coach through my small business, WriterPal. Prior to that, I contributed freelance content to the Taste Movie Blog, Elite Daily, StageLight Magazine, and StageDoorDish.

If you’re looking for someone who is hardworking and detail-oriented, I can promise you that that’s me. I love working with students and inspiring people to write creatively, which is the whole focus of my writing brand. I’m also a novelist-in-progress and have been researching story in-depth for the past ten years, so I have plenty to share when working with beginning or intermediate writers. I’m self-motivated, able to work independently, and would love to share my passion with young writers, especially if it helps them develop a passion for writing as well.
